What we do...
Building on our vision of love, joy, and peace, we strive to create a community that reflects these values in all aspects of our activities. At the heart of everything we do is our love for Jesus Christ and the love we share with one another.
We understand that the Bible is the foundation of our faith, and so many of our activities are centered around studying and reflecting on its teachings. Through Bible studies, prayer groups, and worship services, we aim to grow in our knowledge of God and become more like Jesus, who showed us how to love others and live a life of purpose.
But we also recognize that building a strong community means creating opportunities for sharing joy and providing support to one another. Whether it's through social events, community service projects, or simply spending time together, we strive to build relationships that are based on kindness, respect, and understanding.
In this spirit of love, we also aim to create a safe and inclusive environment where all members feel comfortable sharing their struggles, fears, and hopes. We understand that life can be challenging, and we want to be there for each other in times of need, offering support, comfort, and encouragement.
Ultimately, our activities are centered around building a community that embodies the love, joy, and peace of Christ, and we invite all who share these values to join us in fellowship and worship.
Breaking of Bread
Our main worship activity of the week is a special time when we gather to remember the unconditional love that Jesus showed for us by sacrificing his life on the cross. As humans, we all make mistakes and fall short, but this service is an opportunity to reflect on our lives and strive to be more like Jesus by extending love and grace to those around us. Through sharing bread and wine, symbols of his body, we acknowledge the power of his sacrifice and invite God to work in our lives, transforming us to be more compassionate, forgiving, and selfless.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School provides a fun and engaging learning environment where children can explore the stories and teachings of the Bible. Through these lessons, they come to understand the loving nature of God and His son, Jesus, and how to apply these values to their own lives. Sunday School is available during term times for children of school age, and is led by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about helping children grow in their faith.
In Sunday School, children are encouraged to ask questions and participate in interactive activities that help to bring the stories of the Bible to life. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where children feel valued, loved and supported as they grow in their faith. Our teachers are dedicated to helping each child develop their own personal relationship with God, and we believe that this is best achieved through engaging and dynamic lessons that are tailored to their unique needs and learning styles. We welcome all children, regardless of their background or level of familiarity with the Bible, and we are committed to helping each child discover the joy and wonder of God's love.
Bible Study
The Bible is God's message to us about His love and plan for the world through Jesus. Through studying the Bible, we gain a deeper understanding of God's nature and His desire for us to experience joy and peace in our lives. We believe that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth and guidance, and we encourage everyone to engage with it regularly through our various Bible study programs and activities.
Coffee Mornings
Join us for our weekly social event where we gather together for a cup of tea and a slice of cake. It's a great opportunity to catch up with friends and meet new people, all while supporting a good cause - Children's Hospice South West. Donations are always appreciated. Whether you want to chat about your week, share your interests, or simply relax and enjoy the company, everyone is welcome to come along and join us.
Youth Group
Our youth group provides a safe and welcoming environment for children to socialize with others and participate in enjoyable activities. Children aged 4-11 are welcome to join our monthly group, where they can build friendships and have fun together. We believe that positive social interactions are an important part of a child's development, and we strive to foster a sense of community and belonging within our group. Our youth group offers a space for children to be themselves and have a great time while doing so.
