Whether it’s the covenant with Abraham or the law given through Moses, everything comes together in Jesus. He fulfils every promise God ever made.
God’s Warnings and the Reality of Sin
God’s plan also includes warnings about the seriousness of sin. Throughout the Bible, we see examples of God’s wrath against sin, from the fall of Adam and Eve to the destruction of cities like Sodom and Gomorrah. These warnings point forward to the ultimate judgment that Jesus took upon Himself on the cross.
Jesus is called the Lamb of God because He took the curse of sin upon Himself. In Galatians 3:13, it says, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us." This shows how serious sin is, but it also shows the depth of God’s love in providing a way for us to be made right with Him.
God’s Covenant Commitment
At the heart of God’s plan is His covenant commitment to us. A covenant is a promise that God makes, and throughout the Bible, we see God making covenants with people like Abraham, Moses, and David. These covenants show us that God is serious about having a relationship with us. He commits to being our God, and we’re called to be His people.
Jesus fulfils all the promises of these covenants through His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection. Because of Jesus, we live under a new covenant—a covenant of grace where we are forgiven and brought into a close relationship with God.

Jesus is the centre of God’s plan. He is the descendant of Abraham, the last Adam, who undoes the damage caused by the first Adam. Through Jesus, we are brought back into a relationship with God. 1 Corinthians 15:45 calls Jesus the "last Adam," a life-giving spirit who reverses the death brought by sin.
The Old Testament is full of symbols and stories that point forward to Jesus. The sacrifices, the temple, the priests, and the kings—all these are shadows of what Jesus would do. The entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, points to Jesus as the one who brings us back to God.
